80s Staple

Hi loves!

The weather was absolutely beautiful today! Fall is creeping in right around the corner, and although I am not ready to let go of summer-- I am so excited!!

Today was a really great day for me. My friend Tanya is in town for a few days and I decided to take her to Harlem since she's never been. We did a bit of shopping at the african market (my favoriteeee) went to the Apollo and ate at this really good buffet style restaurant.

Now y'all know how much I love the 80's. Oversized double breasted blazers were a staple in the 80s. I saw this blazer at the goodwill and literally fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!

4 Year Anniversary

When I was 16 I decided to start my own fashion blog. I always had a passion for fashion but I didn't feel like I was taking it anywhere so I decided "Hey! Why not start a blog." And here I am 4 years later.
My blog may not be well-known or commercial and that's fine with me. That does not determine my success. What does is when someone says "Roger, I saw you wear that and you inspired me to go out and get it." or when someone says "You inspired me to try something new, thank you!" My blog is a place for anyone and everyone to feel inspired. So, thank you to all my friends and family who one way or another have been a part of my blog. And a HUGE thank you to my readers! I love you all.

Snow Day Fun

This past weekend I had a sleepover with my two friends Kirstie and Maria. As some of you may know there was a snow storm here in NYC so we were literally locked inside. Being the adventurous friend that I am, It was my bright idea to hit the streets! Hahaha. We walked the park, took amazing pictures and had fun all in the freezing cold!
I really wanted to incorporate color into this outfit because I feel that when winter comes around, there's always a dark cloud hovering over us (Fashion wise.) If that makes any sense... Haha! I love the color coral and when I found this coral coat I thought to myself "It is perfect, I NEED it!"

How To Make A Statement at NYFW

So it is that time of year! It is NYFW! And the best way to get recognized is with a simultaneously polished and playful look. Don't be afraid to mix prints and play with colors. I love the layering with the two shirts and I feel that leopard/animal print shoes are an essential piece to have!

How To Make A Statement at NYFW

Inside The Beach Bag

Inside The Beach Bag

Hey ladies! Pack for the beach, RogerDeMonserrath way!
1) If you're going to the beach it would only be right to bring some sort of swim wear. This bikini set is so cool! I love the gem neck! Great way to make a statement, even in a bikini!!
2) Sunglasses are a MUST, well, at least for me.
3) A towel is very important to bring, especially a cute one! I know how uncomfortable it is to be wet!
 4) Beach hats! I just love how ladies look in beach hats!
 5) These sandals are perfect for when going to the back, and leaving.
6) A beach dress is perfect for when going to the beach, and also leaving.
7) If you're not a dress girl, don't worry I didn't forget about you! I paired a pair of printed wide leg pants with a white t shirt. You will be very cool, comfortable, and stylish!

The White Button Down

If you haven't noticed, I am obsessed with white button down shirts! I personally think it's very hard to go wrong with a white button down, you can almost wear them with everything! You can dress them down and dress them up!
Look Number 1:
This is great look for spring and a "hang out" day! It is very effortless yet very stylish. If you want to incorporate a bit more POP to the outfit, you can add a statement necklace. Also, a pink lipstick would go really good with this look!
Look Number 2:
This look is good for spring as well, but to me it screams out fall! I also realized this is more of a business woman look. The orange skirt adds a POP to the outfit, which is why I chose dark accessories. Don't feel as if you wont make a statement, the orange skirt is already a statement, but the red lipstick finishes it off!
